Vedder
River
Steelhead fishing is slow but there are some in the river. It will improve in January with the peak in March. Use Pink Worms, wool/Jensen Eggs, Gooey Bobs or Row Bags.
Chehalis River
A few Steelhead in the system but not many.
Stave River
Again a few Steelhead (hatchery) but it is hit and miss. The Stave is a good alternative when the Vedder is blown out.
Cutthroat Fishing
The Harrison or Fraser River can provide excellent cutthroat fishing when the weather cooperates but with more than a month of nights at or below freezing the fishing has been very slow. As soon as the weather warms a bit, days around 10 deg C is the magic number, and the length of day starts to get longer then fishing will pick up.
Rainbow Fishing
Local Lakes - Rolley (walk in - 1km), Grace (walk in), Mill and Whonnock (boat launches open but no motors) are well stocked with Rainbows around 1lb. The conditions need to the same as with Cutthroats, a bit warmer weather and longer days will increase the success rate.
